'Indie Radio Rocks The World 2' Parties Announced: Tuesday, March 13 and Wednesday, March 14 @ Bernadette's Bar

Since semi-retiring from booking events, I thought everyone was satisfied with unofficial gig referrals for this year's SXSW Music Fest, but fate and determination to showcase (and party with) the artists I appreciate conspired to create Indie Radio Rocks The World 2!

We have 24+ confirmed music acts from overseas, out-of-town, and in your neighborhood bringing the rompus (rock + rumpus) to Austin for two days during SXSW! Join us for a second year of presenting indie music - on and off the radio.

For performances and schedules (TBA soon), go to the official unofficial SXSW event blog: indieradiorocks.tumblr.com.

Unofficial SXSW showcase and party attendees also have event planning options to take the confusion out of attending showcases and parties - and not miss on free events and extras, like complimentary drinks and food. Here are links to our event, where you can also do your other party attendance planning:

  • Sched, a favorite app (that doesn't require installation), celebrates 5 years of unofficial SXSW event scheduling. Don't forget to add Day 1 and Day 2 of Indie Radio Rocks The World 2 to your sched. Hint-hint...
  •  With Eventbrite, you have the option of printing a ticket for you and friends, but no real need to, because if your name is registered as a guest for our event and you're one of the first 50 ticket registrants, you will receive one extra complimentary bottle of Honest Tea (one bottle per name only).
  • Do512 is another helpful way to keep up with events.
  • The social network Facebook also serves as an event hub for those who want a quick glance and RSVP.
Follow Indie Radio Rocks The World 2 party updates, and other unofficial party updates: @AntiGravityATX and @IndieRadioRocks on Twitter.

Thanks to our sponsors: Radio Casbah, Fetch Muzik, and Honest Tea.

A Beyond OKlahoma Psychedelic, Post Punk Rock Experience: The Electric Primadonnas, The Escatones, Devour The World, and Shardz @ Skinny's Ballroom, Fri. 3/2, 9pm

Updated Mon. 2/20/12, 10:50 pm

The Electric Primadonnas have evolved into a psychedelic, "freakbeat" garage rock band with a two town residency: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where they began, and Los Angeles, CA, where one of their co-founding members now resides. But don't think a minor issue like a few thousand miles makes a difference with the musical connection the band continues to make with recordings and live performances. They are joining psychedelic/surf garage rock faves The Escatones on a musical excursion in Texas, which includes performances in Austin, Texas. They'll be playing early at Trailer Space Records, 7pm, then joining Austin-based folk/psych Rycootermelontramp, post punk ponderers Devour The World, and prodigious cellist & soundscape artist Shardz (Joey Reyes of Whale Watch) at Skinny's Ballroom, 9pm.
